Mika Singh Gets Big Relief As Bombay High Court Quashes Old Molestation Case Against Him For Forcibly Kissing Rakhi Sawant-Report
Bollywood singer Mika Singh can heave a sigh of big relief as he is finally free from an old molestation case. On Thursday, The Bombay High Court quashed a 2006 case lodged against him for allegedly forcibly kissing actor Rakhi Sawant. The division bench of Justices A S Gadkari and S G Dige took the decision after taking into account an affidavit submitted by Rakhi, who gave her consent to quash the matter.

In the affidavit, the controversy queen gave her consent to quash the case she had filed against Mika. Sawant mentioned that she and Mika have amicably resolved the issue and realised the entire dispute had arisen due to “misunderstanding and misconception on our part.” On June 11, 2006, FIR was registered against the singer after he allegedly forcibly kissed Rakhi Sawant on her lips during his birthday party at a restaurant in Mumbai. Mika Singh was booked under sections 354 (molestation) and 323 (assault) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Rakhi and Mika’s controversy grabbed many headlines back then and it was one of the biggest controversies of the time. Mika in an interview had said that he asked his guests not to smear cake on his face but Rakhi did it so he decided to ‘teach her a lesson’ by kissing her forcibly. Last year, Rakhi and Mika reconciled when they bumped into each other outside a coffee shop. The actor-dancer even touched his feet.

In April this year, Mika moved to High Court seeking to quash the FIR and subsequent chargesheet filed by the police.
